Geared towards advancing budget transparency goals under Tunisia’s 4th Open Government Partnership’s National Action Plan, GIFT kicked off the technical collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Finance and hosted the International Workshop on Budget Transparency Portals and Open Data from February to March 2022.
During these sessions, government officials, civil society organization representatives, and members of the international cooperation community, discussed the potential applicability of the international experiences presented by GIFT to the country context and in addressing potential challenges. Government representatives from the Electronic Administration Unit, and the Directorate General for Expenditure Synthesis and Analysis also presented the current state of fiscal transparency in the country and short-term plans.
